Ledger & Loam Lecture Posters

Twelve lecture posters, one grid, screenprinted — the series is the design, each month is a variable.

A monthly lecture series needs twelve posters a year, forever, without a designer on staff. So the deliverable wasn't twelve posters — it was a machine for making them.

One A2 grid: speaker enormous at the top, date and venue in a fixed band, and the lower two-thirds reserved for a single field the month's printer can fill however the talk suggests — a diagram, a specimen, a photograph, a texture pulled on the screen bed. The type never moves; the image never repeats.

We printed the first year ourselves to prove the grid survived enthusiasm, then handed over the files and the rule: change the bottom, never the top. Four years on, the series is still recognizably itself.
