Terms of Service
The agreement covering every Ransack organization and published site.
Last updated: July 31, 2026
These terms govern your use of Ransack, a hosted publishing platform operated at ransack.io ("Ransack", "we", "us"). By creating an organization or publishing a site, you agree to them. Ransack is in early access: expect the service — and these terms — to evolve, and expect us to announce material changes.
Your organization
You are responsible for the activity on your organization and for keeping API keys, reviewer codes, and other credentials secret. Connected applications and agents act with the access you approve, and you are responsible for reviewing their work. Human access uses Google sign-in or passwordless email verification. Unclaimed organizations expire and are deleted automatically after about thirty days.
Your content
You own the content you publish on Ransack. You grant us the license we need to operate the service: to store, reproduce, cache, transform (for example, into image renditions and search indexes), and publicly serve your content on your sites and their APIs and feeds. This license ends when you delete the content or your organization, except for short-lived backups and caches.
You are responsible for the content you publish, including content your tools and agents publish on your behalf, and for having the rights to publish it. Content ingested from external sources (for example, through link ingestion) remains your responsibility.
Acceptable use
Use of Ransack is subject to the Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these terms. We may remove content, suspend sites, or terminate organizations that violate it — with notice where practical, without notice where the violation is severe or legally requires immediate action.
Copyright
We respond to copyright infringement notices as described on the Reporting Abuse page, and we terminate the organizations of repeat infringers.
Plans and payment
Ransack has a free plan and a paid pro plan; pricing describes what each includes. Plans belong to organizations, and plan-based capacity and visibility limits are enforced by the platform; we may adjust limits with notice.
Paid subscriptions have not opened yet; nothing is charged today. When they open, pro will be billed monthly per organization through Stripe, our payment processor, and usage beyond the plan's included capacity will bill monthly at the period's peak at the published overage rates. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; partial months are not refunded except where the law requires otherwise. We announce price changes at least thirty days before they take effect, applying from your next billing period after the notice.
If a pro subscription ends or payment ultimately fails, the organization returns to the free plan: private and unlisted sites keep their visibility and stop serving to people outside the organization — nothing is made public automatically — the "Published with Ransack" sub-footer returns, custom domains stop serving, and content over free capacity stops accepting new writes but is never deleted by a downgrade.
The service
Ransack is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, data durability beyond our published practices, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending things
You can stop using Ransack at any time; deleting your organization permanently removes your sites, content, and history. We may suspend or terminate organizations that violate these terms or create risk for the platform or its users.
